Its 2018, Mario and Jess are on Bumble. For those of you that don't know Bumble, it's a dating app where the woman has to initiate the conversation first. Jess messages Mario saying she has an extra ticket to Thailand and is looking for someone to go with her. Mario thought Jess was a bot or a dude, but to his disbelief she was real. Mario was in his first year at the San Jose Fire Department and couldn't make Thailand work. They lost contact for a bit, and then...

Its 2019, Mario is still following Jess on social media and decides to message Jess a fire emoji after she posted something that resonated with him. Jess replies "hey, who are you" and Mario mentions that she invited him to Thailand a year ago. Mario remembers his roommates words from 2018 "close mouths don't get fed" and works up the courage to ask Jess on a coffee date. Instead, they meet at Gen BBQ on January 7, 2020 in Santa Clara. Thereafter, everything happened at lightning speed and they wouldn't have it any other way.

May 2020 - Surprise! Pregnant with Harlei.

January 2021 - Harlei is born!

August 2022 - Surprise! Pregnant with Kai!

April 2023 - Kai is born!

June 2023 - Mario gets down on one knee and pops the question on Zinfandel Trail (where they had one of their first dates) while hiking with all 3 kids.
